#BookNotes no.8 — The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles

This was a surprisingly quick and informative book to read. There has been a general theme in the books I’ve been reading the past couple of weeks as I go through my recommended reading list for my coach training that is largely based on Law of Attraction.

And this book is the one that started it all. I rate this book highly because it blows my mind every time I think about when it when written. It was originally printed in 1910, and a lot of what was written then still applies today and was the inspiration for the popular book ‘The Secret’, written in 2006.

You’ll would have heard of the book ‘The Secret’ it was a selling phenomenon and it changed many people’s lives. It elevated people’s thinking by showing the world how to Be, Do and Have what you most desire.

This book is no different, and presents it as a form of science.

There is something about a principle that hasn’t changed in over 100+ years that one should take notice…Laws of the Universe.

We live in a thought world, which is part of a thought universe and thought is the only power that can produce physical form from a formless substance.

This can cause the thing you think about to be created.

It’s amazing to know we can create what we want to create by acting and thinking in a certain way and every person naturally wants to become all that they are capable of becoming.

However to manifest such desires you must first KNOW what you want and hold the mental image of it with the most positive certainty that it is being made, or is on its way to you, and want it badly enough so that it will stay in your thoughts.

This is the science of getting rich.

Thought and personal action must then be combined. By thought, the thing you want is brought to you; by action you receive it.

Then every success opens the way to other successes and the grateful mind will continually expects good things and expectation becomes faith.

So the very best thing you can do for the whole world is to make the most of yourself; having a clear concept of WHAT you want to be, who knows that you CAN become what you want to be and is determined to BE what you want to be.

This is the science of getting rich.
